To help protect everyone working on and attending venues and events through an agile, informed, and connected community.
Preparedness / empowerment / resilience / security
The Decision Support Centre (DSC) is a national initiative designed to support venues and events in meeting their safety and security responsibilities, particularly in light of Martyn’s Law.
The DSC manages the National Events Database, offering a strategic picture of UK event activity recording:
Registration on the database is simple: as an organiser you can add your venue or event information, enter or update your event dates, and indicate key characteristics – such as whether you qualify for Martyn’s Law, are licensed, or operating a Public space amongst other factors.
Data is securely held and forms part of a live, map-based platform that underpins another initiative – the Decision Support Centre, or DSC, a monitoring and coordination hub designed to look ‘beyond the fence-line’.
In practice, that means joining up local intelligence, event calendars, and available resources, so again you’re not operating alone or in silos.
We provide a growing suite of tools including the Events & Venues Toolkit, Incident Response Playbook and, soon to come, a CPD Certified Responsible Persons Training course, developed in alignment with national guidance and practical operational insight. Have a look at our Resources page for more information.
